Our Values PDF Print E-mail

Humanity – We believe that every individual should have the dignity of a life free of poverty.  We are driven to make a change in our society so that others who are more apathetic to helping the needy see poverty in a more realistic light.  We will shine attention on the fact that poverty is a human created condition, and circumstance more than commitment keeps the generational cycle alive.

Integrity – Intertwined tightly in our value system our integrity is the moral fiber which holds our organization and its committed staff and volunteers together in our cause of ending poverty.

Honesty – Often what is not said is the problem in maintaining long-term sustainability.  The lack of honesty in a relationship compromises the integrity of an organization.  To put in place systems of change we must pledge to be honest in every situation and engage in and inviting open and honest communication with our clients and partners.

Hope – We are an organization of believers, balancing optimism with realism.  We will carry out the vision our forefathers had of an equal and just society for all.  To carry us forward we must believe that change is possible and use variables that can set metrics for change.  It is through our success and the success of those partnered with us that we will start to stem the tide of poverty in the United States and put in place systems that demonstrate that change is possible, and poverty will end.

Respect – We respect and have compassion for every individual and family, or organization that we interact with regardless of their circumstances.

Trust – Trust is integral to the client/service provider relationship.  By providing low-cost and free resources to all we assist we help gain back some of the trust that has been compromised in our lowest income communities.  Furthermore, through persistence and follow-through we will help sustain and strengthen the bonds of trust so we can have the buy-in from community members needed to bring about change.

Accountability – We will only make commitments in which we can provide solid outcomes.  We understand at the root of our service is individuals in need, and we seek to see as many systems of support and resources that we fight to achieve reach those that struggle with poverty daily.  We require individual and collective accountability to participate in our efforts, as there is too much at stake to have the accountability of our overall organization in question among those who support us and those we serve.

Transparency – At the core of establishing trust among our financial supporters and all those engaged at every level of our organization is our commitment to stand-up to outside scrutiny by maintaining and upholding transparency within our operations and fulfilling the obligations that we have pledged to fill.

Professionalism – We will always be professional in our interactions with clients as to set a positive example for those who come after us and in remembrance of those who have come before.
